The Bakers Shop - History

Once I have a bit more time I am going to add a bit to the blog about the history of the Old Shop.  So hopefully you will bear with me as this may take some time to populate!

There are some old photos in the Swindon Museum and Art Gallery which show the house in general shots and you can see them at the following links:

The Shrivenham Historic Society also had a couple of negatives which they were kind enough to lend us. This is the only one I can upload at the minute as the other file is too large.  Thanks to my friend KC who did some research on the old census info we believe this to be Thomas Fuller, Baker and grocer with his wife Louisa and possibly his 8 children, 4 girls and 4 boys.  More to follow in due course.

The Baker and his family - probably!

The Baker and his wife with various animals - including, if you look closely - a rather reluctant cat!
